Rigging Portfolio

As a seasoned Blender technical artist and rigger with 20+ years of experience, I've honed my skills in creating complex and efficient rigging systems. Whether it's 2D animation or realistic 3D, I bring a deep understanding of character and object movement to every project.

Mars Express

If you’ve watched Mars Express (you should!) you know it’s a movie with plenty of robots. I was in charge of the mechanical rigging, ensuring that each of them moved smoothly and realistically. I paid close attention to their individual characteristics and overall functionality.

Cosmos Laundromat

Cosmos Laundromat's fantastical creatures demanded a delicate balance of realism and whimsy. As a rigging artist on this ambitious Blender Studio project, I crafted intricate systems that allowed for expressive movements while maintaining their otherworldly charm.

Ghosts of Ruin

As rigging supervisor on the four-episode miniseries Ghosts of Ruin, I oversaw the creation of intricate rigging systems that brought its diverse cast of characters to life. From the formidable monsters to the complex human protagonists, my team and I worked tirelessly to ensure that their movements were expressive, believable, and aligned with the series' distinctive aesthetic.

Type S: Chiaki’s Journey

Rigging cars for Type S: Chiaki's Journey presented a unique challenge due to the series' 2D style. I had to create rigging systems that allowed the cars to squash and stretch realistically, while still maintaining their structural integrity and believable physics.

Moonlit Bamboo Forest

As a rigging artist on Moonlit Bamboo Forest, I successfully integrated stylized 3D fox characters into a primarily 2D environment. Overcoming the challenge of blending animation styles, I developed effective rigs that allowed for expressive movements while maintaining the film's unique aesthetic.

Picchu

I had the pleasure of collaborating on the short film Picchu as a rigging consultant. I worked closely with senior riggers to facilitate their transition to Blender. I contributed my knowledge and experience in rigging to help the team achieve their production goals and create high-quality animated characters.
